Over two dozen volunteers gathered on Saturday, April 26 at 10 AM for the annual spring clean up of Ash Creek and St. Mary's-by-the-Sea.  The Ash Creek Conservation Association co-sponsored this event with Save the Sound.  Members of the Westport Unitarian Church Youth Group joined the effort as well as residents of Black Rock and Fairfield.   Coffee and other refreshments were served starting at 9:30 AM as the volunteers divided into groups to clean different sections of St. Mary’s and Ash Creek.  Darryl Manning recruited the volunteers from the Westport Unitarian Church Youth Group, Roger and Susan Ludwig coordinated the clean-up with Save the Sound, Peggy Ianiello organized the volunteers on-site, and Kraig Steffen took still photos and You Tube videos of the event.  Photos and videos were posted on the Black Rock Community Blog at www.blackrockonline.org  Left to right in photo:  Roger Ludwig, Ash Creek Conservation Association Board member; Kraig Steffen, Vice President, Ash Creek Conservation Association n, Mary Erkan, Sue Thommen, Jean Layton, and members of the Westport Unitarian Church Youth Group.

 The Ash Creek Conservation Association and Save the Sound wants to thank everyone who participated in this year's clean up.  We had over 25 volunteers, including members of the Ash Creek Conservation Association, Black Rock residents, and members of the Westport Unitarian Church Youth Group.
