Burroughs Community Center Needs Volunteer Tutors!
August 7, 2007 by Laura Magnotta commentBurroughs needs volunteer reading tutors!
August 12, 2008 by Laura Magnotta commentWhat piece of learning as a child did you get stuck on?
Learning to read?
What would you have done if the adults around you couldn't help you out? There is no good answer to that is there?
That's why Burroughs has a Tutoring Program for our kids. So many of them want to learn, to understand and to succeed, but they need one-on-one help.

Dear Neighbors,
Here is an update on the families made homeless by last week’s fire.
1. Good news! Two of the 4 families in the shelter have found apartments. One family found a landlord who waived the security deposit (people are good) so they need one month’s rent. The rent is $800 and the family has savings of $200. so they need $600
The second family has a section 8 certificate. The apartment they are renting costs $1150 a month and they have to pay $575/month. So we hope to raise the first month’s rent for them
