Thanks to an overwhelming response, a second screening of THE ACCIDENTAL MAYOR, a new documentary by award-winning filmmaker Larry Locke has been scheduled to benefit the Burroughs Community Center.  The documentary chronicles John Fabrizi's years as the Mayor of Bridgeport and will be shown on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 7:00 P.M.

The Quick Start Language Center allows community members to learn a language at their own pace, on their schedule using laptop computers and Pimsleur software… for FREE!  14 languages are available for English speakers including Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Italian, German and more. English is available for Spanish and Portuguese speakers.   

Remember to change the batteries in your smoke alarms as well.

You get the first annual Burroughs "Freezin' for a Reason"! 

  Saturday February 9th is Burroughs 1st annual Freezin' for a Reason! Dozens of supporters will be running into the ice cold waters of Long Island Sound to help raise money for the Burroughs Community Center ~ and we want you to join in on the fun!

In the past four years the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at the Burroughs Community Center has completed over 1000 income tax returns free of charge for families with average incomes of less than $19,000.  In order to serve even more families this year more volunteers are needed!

We know it hasn't even been a week since the clocks changed and you haven't even planned your Thanksgiving menu BUT it’s never too early to start thinking about holiday giving! Every year we try to make the holidays a little brighter for the kids in our After School program. And this year we need YOUR help!
