Black Rock Day 2013

Black Rock Day will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2013.  START YOUR SUMMER RIGHT!  Enjoy a great day running the Run for the Rock, watching the Best Small Parade in America, rooting for your favorite Bed Race team, and enjoying live music at Ellsworth Field!

Black Rock Day has tons of fun for everyone including great food from area restaurants, beer, and plenty of activities for the kids, including pony rides, games and face painting.

 A Full Day of Fun Events

9:00 AM - 'Run for the Rock' 5K Road Race

The 31st annual run through Black Rock! A scenic, mostly flat course through our historic neighborhood. The race will start and end at the Norden Club on Seabright Avenue, within steps of a small beach to unwind after the run!

Only $23 Registration Fee When Paid in Advance, $28 on Race Day. Ages 70 and over - Free!

 Walkers are encouraged to join us. Street parking only.

11:30 AM - Black Rock Bed Race

6th Annual Belly-Splitting Race for Slumber Pride!

Racers and beds should arrive at the Brewster Street flagpole at 10:30 am.  Prizes will be awarded!

NOTE: Your safety is very important to us. Please wear good running shoes. NO flip-flops, sandals or bare feet allowed. Accidents may occur such as falling on pavement, scrapes, bruises, tripping, collisions, etc.

Safety gear is recommended.

12:00 PM - Black Rock Day Parade

Hailed as the "Best Small Parade in America," the Black Rock Day Parade winds from the Burroughs Community Center to Ellsworth Field.  Bands, floats, local groups and celebs will be part of the event.

Pick your spot so you won't miss a thing! The parade winds through the neighborhood streets and past the official reviewing stand at Ellsworth Field.

1:00 PM - Black Rock Day Festival

Listen to live music from The Bernadettes, dine on award-winning local cuisine and enjoy the camaraderie that makes Black Rock such a one of a kind place!

Black Rock merchandise will be available and there will be plenty of fun-filled activities for the kids, including a petting zoo and pony rides!

Festival ends at 6pm.
