FREE COMPUTER CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS

Tuesdays 6:30 - 7:30 PM. The Black Rock Branch Library, 2705 Fairfield Avenue presents: Free Computer Classes for Beginners. Wednesdays - 10:45- 11:45 AM. The Black Rock Branch Library, 2705 Fairfield Avenue presents: Little Rocks. Join us for our popular Little Rocks program for children up through age 3 with a caregiver. BLACK ROCK KNITTING & CROCHETING CLUB

Thursdays 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM, The Black Rock Branch Library, 2705 Fairfield Avenue presents: The Black Rock Knitting & Crocheting Club Weekly Meeting. FAMILY FILM FEST - THE SNOWMAN

Thursday, January 3rd at 6:30 PM, The Black Rock Branch Library, 2705 Fairfield Avenue presents: Family Film Fest - THE SNOWMAN. This charming British animated short film (it's just 23 minutes long) is a 1982 production of London's Channel 4, based on the classic children's book by Raymond Briggs and crafted with a colored-pencils-on-paper look, like fluffy, hand-drawn illustrations: Followed by a snowman craft activity. FABULOUS FRIDAYS - MONTHLY CRAFT PROGRAM FOR KIDS

Friday January 11th - 10:45- 11:45 AM, The Black Rock Branch Library, 2705 Fairfield Avenue presents: Fabulous Fridays, a monthly craft program for kids, starting Friday, January 11 at 3:30 p.m. at the Black Rock Branch. SENIORS - DEALING WITH THE NEW YEAR

Friday, January 11th 10:00 - 11:30 AM, The Black Rock Branch Library, 2705 Fairfield Avenue presents: presents: Seniors - Dealing with the New Year. Join the Bridgeport Hospital's Center for Geriatrics CARE program for an informational hour about any issues that people, particularly seniors, may be having. A social worker will be available to assist people with seeking resources and support for the new year. THE BLACK ROCK MOTHER DAUGHTER BOOK CLUB

Tuesday, January 15th at 6:30 PM, The Black Rock Branch Library, 2705 Fairfield Avenue presents: The Black Rock Mother Daughter Book Club a monthly Book Club for girls ages 9-12 in Grades 5-6 and their moms. Our January book is: Waiting For Normal by Leslie Connor. Addie is waiting for normal. But Addie's mother has an all-or-nothing approach to life: a food fiesta or an empty pantry, her way or no way. EXPLORING HEADLINES:  TENSIONS IN THE SOUTH CHINA SEA: ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL DIMENSIONS

Thursday, January 24th at 7:00 PM, The Black Rock Branch Library, 2705 Fairfield Avenue presents: Exploring Headlines: "Tensions in the South China Sea: Economic and Political Dimensions"  What are the ramifications of China's territorial claims to the resource-rich South China Sea, and why are tensions flaring over this disputed territory that's so strategically and economically important to the United States? Learn more when the Black Rock Branch Public Library inaugurates a new lecture series about current events and other critical issues, featuring Dr. Chunjuan Nancy Wei and William Lay from the University of Bridgeport International College (UBIC).
