NEEDLE CRAFTS CLUB

CHESS CLUB

WHEN: Monday Evenings: January 9, 16 & 30 ; February 13 & 27 ; March 5 & 19

TIME: 7:00-10:00pm

COST: No charge

 YOGA CLASS  

WHEN: Monday Evenings beginning January 9th

TIME: 5:45-6:45pm

COST: $12 per class

Hatha yoga class led by a certified Kripalu teacher.  Concentrates on flexibility, balance, strength and stress reduction.

FRENCH COOKING CLASS

A series of 4 classes offered in the Burroughs Kitchen.

Offered by noted Black Rock French Chef Celine Derreumaux.

WHEN: Wednesday evenings January 18, February 1, 15 & 29.

TIME: 6:30-8:30pm

Cost: $35 per class. Includes dinner and recipes.

ZUMBA CLASS

WHEN: Begins Thursday, February 2nd

TIME: 5:30-6:30pm

COST: $10 per class

Led by the very popular Zumba instructor, Nina Merlonghi.  Lots of fun and excitement  while getting a great workout!

VITA-VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE - FREE INCOME TAX PREPERATION 

WHEN: BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! 

Sundays 11:00am-1:00pm & Mondays from 6:00-7:30pm from January 22nd - April 2nd.

COST: No charge

To schedule an appointment, please call the Center between 10:00am-1:00pm on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays.  A bilingual reservationist will be available during these hours.

QUICK START LANGUAGE CENTER

WHEN: Tutoring available for English Language Learners Monday evenings from 5:15-8:30 pm & Fridays from 11:30am-1:30pm. Appointments to utilize computer language programs can be made by calling 203-334-0293.

COST: No charge

Rosetta Stone language program for English.  Pimsleur language program for Arabic, French, German, Greek, Italian, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Rusian and Spanish

WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP

WHEN: Saturday in March TBD

TIME: 10:00am-3:00pm

COST: $45 includes lunch and supplies

Instructed by Lizzy Rockwell, writer and illustrator of several popular children's books, the workshop is for all levels including those who have never enjoyed the fun of painting with watercolors or any other media.

OPENING SOON-BURROUGHS COMPUTER CENTER 

Computer and internet access provided free of charge.  The Center will be staffed by computer savvy individuals who can provide assistnce from tasks ranging from basic internet searches to more advanced Microsoft applications.
