Brewster Street Bridge Closed for Two Weeks

 Due to construction activity, the Black Rock Turnpike/Brewster Street bridge spanning the Rooster River/Ash Creek will be closed temporarily to thru traffic during weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. beginning Feb.15, 2011. A detour will be in effect. There will be continued, unimpeded access to all businesses along Black Rock Turnpike and Brewster Street during this operation. The bridge will be open to traffic on weekdays before 7:00 a.m.

Town Meeting with Gov. Malloy

Governor Dannel Malloy will hold a Town Hall Meeting in Bridgeport.  Location: City Hall Annex at 999 Broad Street in Conference Rooms A, B, and C  Date:  February 21, 2011 Time: 7:00pm.  According to Joe Ianniello of the Black Rock NRZ, our Council Representatives Sue Brannelly and Marty McCarthy feel that, “it's critical the governor hear from us first hand and understand we are not in any way an apathetic city.

Property Tax Relief Bills

Our hardworking Representative, Auden Grogins, is introducing or co-sponsoring three very important property tax relief bills before the legislature on March 2 and needs your support.  She is asking for those of us who can go to Hartford the morning of Wednesday, March 2 to join her in a show of support for these bills.
