Black Rock Library Meet the Author Series

first thingOn Tuesday, December 7th at 6:30 PM at the Black Rock Branch Library Allan G. Johnson will read from his new novel, The First Thing and the Last, which tells the story of one woman’s recovery in the aftermath of domestic violence. The author will also discuss the seven year journey to find a publisher willing to print a realistic portrayal of domestic violence.

All classes begin at 10:30 AM and will last approximately 1 hour starting Friday, December 3 at the Black Rock Branch library.

First annual City by the Sea Art Fair (CSAF) is scheduled for May 14–15, 2011. A weekend-long regional juried art exhibition celebrating the vitality and creativity of our waterfront metropolis, the fair will include live musical performances, samplings of some of our best local fare and other special events.

Black Rock Rotary Holiday Event

Please join us at the Black Rock Branch Library, 2705 Fairfield Avenue on December 11th between 2 and 5pm for a holiday celebration! Santa will be visiting and giving out gift wrapped children's books for the kids. There will also be refreshments served for both the adults and the children.

Black Rock Halloween Parade Successful

This year’s 2nd annual Black Rock Halloween Parade & Neighborhood Party was a huge success with an estimated 400 children and adults participating. By all accounts, a good time was had by all. Thank you all for participating.
