On Monday, July 9th, the Black Rock Neighborhood Revitalization Zone Committee selected officers to lead the effort for Black Rock’s future.  With a forum present, the committee elected three officers to lead the effort along with the Zared Group, to initiate priorities for Black Rock as part of the City of Bridgeport’s Master Plan.  The Black Rock residents elected were:
President: Lori Baker
Vice President: Kristine Demarco
Recording Secretary: John M. Lee
The Black Rock NRZ invites you to be “One voice” with your neighbors in creating a vision for our Community!
Two community workshops are scheduled:
• Saturday, August 4th – from 8:30 am to 12:30 p.m.:       Black Rock Arts Center
• Saturday, September 8th – from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm:   tbd    THE SEPTEMBER 8 DATE MAY CHANGE, JUST FOUND OUT TODAY (July 17)
Local empowerment through local planning—the Black Rock NRZ is a new kind of partnership between the community and city government. It shifts the “start of planning” to the local level. You can participate in one of six special areas of community focus:
Business & Economic Development
Education
Arts-Entertainment-Culture
Land Use-Historic Development
Quality of Life-Environment-Public Safety
Community Outreach & Communication
