Project Limulus

Horseshoe crabs are among the most primitive creatures on this earth.  They are one of the few species that existed when the dinosaurs roamed the earth, but they have been on the decline since the 1900’s.  No one knows why.

Mark Beekey, an aquatic biologist and Professor of Biology at Sacred Heart University, met with the Ash Creek Conservation Association Board on May 15 and ACCA has agreed to be part of Project Limulus, which will study the reasons for the decline by measuring, tagging, and counting them.  See left sidebar if you are interested in helping.
